We spend a good amount of our time in the office doing works. And the problem with most of our jobs is that these are getting increasingly desk-oriented. As a result, we remain stuck to our desks for most of our office hours. This is not good for our health. Those who do sedentary jobs are at risk of health complications as it’s not a good idea to sit all-day long. That’s why experts suggest many things to those who do sedentary jobs. Even if you are one of them, read on to find out what to do.

Get up and take a walk

As you have to sit for longer hours, it’s recommended that you sometimes get up from your desk and take a walk for some minutes. Independent researches have demonstrated the multi-faceted benefits of leaving your desk at regular intervals and walk around. May be, you can walk to one of your colleagues and share a chit-chat. Or you can invite one of your colleagues to go downstairs with you and share a cup of coffee. 

Maintain posture

The way you sit can often the reason of your back pain. In fact, nowadays many people complain of back pain. It’s happening because you are not sitting with the right posture in your chair. If you are experiencing back pain, you must buy an ergonomically-fit chair to keep the pain at bay. Again, there are chairs specially designed to ward off and alleviateback pain. You can sit in one of these chairs. 

Take a break and look away

If you keep looking at the screen for so long, it will take a heavy toll on your eyes. In fact, you may have to consult an ophthalmologist and get a pair of spectacles. If you do not want to do any of these, you must sometimes take a break and look away from the screen. Experts feel that in every half an hour, you should take a break and give your eyes some relief.

Do small exercises

Only getting up from your chair for some time is not enough, rather you must do some small exercises in consideration of your office setup. Not every office is exercise-friendly. Even if you work in such an office, you can just get up, bend up and down for several times. Then, take a walk for five minutes. This way, you can keep yourself healthy.
