What you need to know about new coronavirus variant

The new variant of coronavirus is making headlines for quite some time. Especially, since it has wreaked havoc in our neighboring country, it has come to global attention and researchers are trying to find the genome sequence of this new variant. In the process, researchers and scientists have enlightened everyone and to some extent, warned everyone to be wary of this variant. Here are a few insights for you:

It’s much more dangerous

This new variant of coronavirus is much more dangerous than the other variant that wreaked havoc in the Western countries and Europe last year. It can take a heavy toll on everyone, ranging from aged people to even a kid. Age does not seem to have any effect on this variant. A few days ago, even a 45-year old baby was infected with coronavirus in Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

It has wreaked havoc in India

This new variant took a heavy toll on public lives in India last month and scores of people died because of this new variant. The variant is also known as delta plus. So far, almost 30.4million cases of corona infection have been detected in India and almost 3.98lakh people died from this variant. The situation was so bad that people even were rushing from one hospital to another one with a hope for getting admitted, but they were returned as the hospitals found it hard to accommodate so many patients. However, the situation is now letting up in India.

Black fungus

The most terrifying impact of this variant (delta plus) is the aftermath. Some people are suffering from black fungus ever after recovering from coronavirus. Black fungus is a serious fungal infection, usually in people with reduced ability to fight infections. It most commonly infects the nose, sinuses, eye and brain resulting in a runny nose, one sided facial swelling and pain, headache, fever, blurred vision, swollen and bulging eye, and tissue death. Other forms of disease may infect the lungs, stomach and intestines, and skin. It is deadly and result in serious health complications even if you recover from it.

Delta plus threatens third wave

Experts around the world believe that this new variant is more dangerous than other variants and this need to be tackled very carefully. If the governments around the world do not handle it carefully and make their citizens aware of the health risks, this variant may cause third wave of infection.
