You may go to Naziratek, the largest sea dry fish market of the country, to buy dry fish alongside the dry fish shops of the town.

If you have enough time in hands, you can visit some other beautiful places in Cox’s Bazar, which remain unexplored by maximum holiday makers. Three splendid islands Maheshkhali, Sonadia and Saint Martin’s will evoke you to not come back from there. Besides, Ramu and Teknaf are two places where you will find the blend of history and nature.

Kuakata

Kuakata, the daughter of ocean, is one the most beautiful places in the world. The 18 km long sea beach is the only place of the world where you can see the sunset and sunrise standing at the same place. At the historical sanatorium of Kuakata, there is an excellent blend of the picturesque and eternal natural beauty. Perpetual majestic view of the Bay of Bengal on one side and the well-set columns of natural charming coconut groves and forest on the other, Kuakata will give you a feel of visiting an earthly paradise. With the vast evergreen charming leaves of trees always dancing in uninterrupted cool breeze blowing from the sea and scores of fishing trawlers anchored, Kuakata is of inexpressible beauty. Kuakata is a sanctuary for migratory winter birds. With wild animals, a series of trees mostly betel nut and coconut, dry sandy beach and the blue Bay, it’s a unique feast for the eye besides historical memorials. Evergreen forest, multi-designed trawlers, fishing boats plying all over the Bay of Bengal with various extents of colourful sails, towering cliffs, surfing silver waves everything soothes the soul.

There are numbers of char and forests in Kuakata where you can find the rare species of trees and animals together besides natural beauty. Gajamati forest on the bank of Gangamoti canal, Eco Park at Jhaubon, Lebur char 5 km east from the beach, clean and beautiful Kakra Beach (Crab Beach) and Fatrar forest at the west side are among the few place you will love to visit.

If you are adventure-minded you may also go for fishing on the fishing boat convincing the local fishermen. That will give you an extra pleasure and thrilling experience, which you won’t be able to gather from anywhere else. In the fishermen’s village you will find the fishermen coming back from the fishing and you can purchase some fresh Hilsa and other sea fishes from them and by the side of village there are some local restaurants from where you can instantly get the taste and flavours of fresh cooked sea fishes. If you like dry fish, especially the sea dry fish, you can visit Shutkipalli, situated 4 km west from Kuakata beach.
