Everyone is talking about sustainability at the moment throughout the world and the fashion industry is also not lagging behind in this perspective. With more and more emphasis being put on sustainability, fashion designers and the industry in a greater sense are also shifting their focus from ordinary fashion items to eco-friendly options.
Products made of jute
You will be happy to know that jute can be used in many ways. It can not only be used for creating different kinds of bags but also for producing various types of fashion accessories such as vanity bags, ear pieces and others. Moreover, many fashion designers have also successfully designed clothes out of jute fibres. If you are an environmentalist or simply an advocate for eco-friendly options, you can choose any of those items made of jute.
Sustainable sneakers
According to fashion website named ‘springwise.com’, Evan Stuart, a student at the Dublin Institute of Technology in Ireland, has designed a shoe that allows wearers to repair and customize footwear themselves. His project, called Layer, is made up of four parts: the uppers, soles, insoles and fastening lace. As different parts of the shoe become worn or as fashion changes, the wearer can order new shoe parts online. The shoes are held together by a lacing system instead of glue. The old parts can easily be unlaced, and the new parts laced on. All of the parts of the shoes are made from biodegradable plastics and recycled polyester fabrics. This means that even when users are ready to get rid of the shoes, they can be recycled.
Recyclable clothes
The best way to put yourself in favor of sustainability is probably opting for recyclable attires. So many fashion houses and brands are now producing clothes that are recyclable and marketing those in the local stores as well. You can buy those and even donate those at times of disaster or necessity so that someone else can put those to good use.
Avoid accessories wrapped in plastics
Try avoid accessories made of plastics. Plastics are very harmful to nature as it does not decompose even after years. Accessories made of sustainable elements are the way to go.
