Bibi Russell

There is no denying that no one model or designer from Bangladesh has ever reached the heights she has reached with her unique fashion ideas and as a model. A former international model, she has always been in the news, even in the international media as a model. Born in 1950 in Chittagong, she earned a graduate degree in fashion from London College of Fashion in 1975. She has been the most successful model of her time as she worked for different magazines including Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Harper’s Bazaar.In 1994, Russell opened a fashion house named Bibi Productions. The specialty of her creations is that those are made amalgamating indigenous Bengali cultural elements. Her designs are unique and very soothing as well. She is also hailed and given credit for popularizing gamcha fashion in the international arena.

Shahrukh Amin

A popular name in the fashion industry, Shahrukh Amin has earned repute at home and abroad for designing the attires with a fusion of traditional vibes and modern twists. Despite the fact that fashion industry is still growing in our country, he has already created a niche for himself among fashion-conscious people by dint of his outlet ‘Almira’. He prefers to work with traditional attires such as sari and salwar kameez. He also tries to mingle western fashion with traditional vibes creating a fusion in the designs of traditional attires. However, traditional wears and designs are always his priority.

Emdad Hoque

One of the veteran designers of Bangladesh, EmdadHoque has an illustrious career. Many modern-day designers look to him for inspiration. Apart from working for many famous fashion brands of this country, he has popularized many of those fashion houses by dint of his unique creations. He is also one of the pioneers who have played role behind the initiation of Khadi fest in Bangladesh.

Afsana Ferdousi

She is probably one of the most versatile modern-day designers. She has impressed many with her sustainable fashion collections. She works with and uses raw materials, fabrics, and elements that are environment-friendly, promoting sustainable fashion that is quite a new concept in our country.
